Hello Members and Friends of the Polish Business Club in Jakarta.
More time has passed since our last gathering ( February 2020 ) and more of you are asking when the next one is going to be. I talked recently with some Business Chambers Representatives, and their prediction to have face to face gatherings moves us to March 2022. All but one had the same opinion. Danish- Indonesian Business Chamber on the 17th of November organized the first physical event after the lockdown, DANCHAM BUSINESS MEET 2021.
We, as the Polish Business Club, are not so brave to go with the direct meeting yet, but collaborating with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Jakarta, Polish Embassy in Jakarta and the Polish Tourism Organisation we were a part of POLAND FESTIVAL PF 2021. This is a brief report :
Poland Festival PF2021 (#PF2021) the largest, most comprehensive and engaging event promoting Poland and Polish FMCG, was held in 3 cities, namely Jakarta, Surabaya and Sanur, Bali, for 2 weeks, from 8th of November until 21st of November. The event was authored and organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency Jakarta Foreign Trade Office in partnership with the Polish Embassy in Jakarta, Polish Business Club and Polish Tourism Organization and featured 16 brands from Poland.
According to motion capture systems based on inertial sensors in Grand Lucky and Hokky stores, the PF2021 attracted over 168 000 visitors. Based on sales data provided by stores and the participating importers, during just 2 weeks of November sales recorded growth between 70% to 400% in comparison to any best month in the past. The direct qualitative outcome of PF2021 is increase of the awareness of Poland’s culture, language, tourism, as well as FMCG brands recognition.

One of the quotes most accurately describing the right direction of the business dialogue between Europe and Indonesia is the one coming from mr Soedomo Mergonoto, founder of PT Kapal Api Global and one of the most successful businessman in Indonesia:
“We can learn greatly from studying the process of importation of products from abroad. We can learn how to compete with foreign products by increasing the quality of the local products and understanding the Indonesian market (potential) better first” (Quote 1:08 – 1:23 from Trans7 TV )
Due to the great success of PF2021 backed by all stakeholders, it has been concluded that the cyclical event is essential for effective promotion of Poland and its FMCG brands in the future.
On this occasion I would like to thank Jacek Kołomyjec and Cezary Filipek of Polish Trade and Investment Agency in Jakarta for organizing and executing the Poland Festival 2021 which introduced to Indonesian customers quality products from Poland in these difficult Pandemic times.
